Ultraflow™
The Ultraflow™ range of products was designed in partnership with nurses, midwives and medical engineers. Because the Ultraflow analgesic demand valve does not require separate breathing filters, it delivers exceptionally high peak flow rates with low respiratory effort. This minimises the work of breathing, supporting positive patient compliance:
- Light, mobile, ergonomic, easy to clean and requires minimal maintenance
- Designed in partnership with nurses, midwives and medical engineers
- Helped support the UK’s first climate-friendly birth
- Diverts exhaled breath away from the handset, reducing the risk of cross-infection
Over 60% of NHS Trusts in the UK choose the Ultraflow™ Inhaled Analgesia System

At Birmingham Children’s Hospital, our pain management team provides support across the entire Trust, responding wherever clinical teams need us. The BPR Medical Ultraflow Analgesic Demand Valve is our go-to product for Entonox delivery and is used Trust-wide and has been since 2018.
We use a portable cylinder and medical gas hose system, which allows us to easily move between wards and deliver effective analgesia wherever it’s required. The Ultraflow demand valve has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and consistently performs without issues.
It is well ingrained in staff practice and straightforward to train new team members on. This makes it an ideal solution in a busy paediatric environment.
The device is routinely used with paediatric patients aged seven years and above, across a wide range of clinical areas including rheumatology, cardiology, burns, epidural removal, line and dressing changes, and specialist wards such as liver and small bowel services. It continues to be a trusted and dependable part of our pain management approach.

The Ultraflow™ Analgesic Demand Valve is easy to set up and use. The design of the valve means its lightweight for the patient to handle, and the soft coating provides an easier grip. The valve feels very robust and is easy to clean.
