Firesafe™
Our award winning range of Firesafe™ devices help reduce the risk of fires associated with oxygen therapy by isolating the oxygen flow and extinguishing the fire tracking back along the oxygen delivery tubing.
The Firesafe range of devices can be installed directly in the oxygen delivery circuit and at the interface with oxygen supply equipment, providing the following benefits:
- Reduce the rate at which the fire spreads
- Prevent fire reaching the supply source
- Minimise the size of the fire and the cost of restoration
- Buy valuable time to evacuate people from the scene

Oxygen is one of the most commonly used medicines at University Hospitals Leicester and, as a highly flammable substance, presents inherent risks. To enhance patient and staff safety, we implemented the deployment of over 3,000 firesafe nozzles, one for every patient bed across all hospital sites and emergency departments. These devices have proven effective and provide reassurance and peace of mind to our medical engineering team. BPR Medical has worked collaboratively with University Hospitals of Leicester to facilitate this.
