Mansfield I-Centre - Lord Sainsbury 2002
The Mansfield i-Centre was formally opened on the 17th April 2002 by Lord Sainsbury, the Minister for Science and Innovation.
The i-centre has been uniquely designed to support, resource and inspire both new and emerging knowledge-based companies across the East Midlands. As such, it was a natural choice for the company when it was looking for new premises.
Lord Sainsbury's brief includes SME innovation and he took a keen interest in the some of the product ideas being presented by BPR Medical during the day.
Engineering Director, David Peel, said of his discussions with Lord Sainsbury "It was somewhat comforting to hear first-hand how important innovation, and in particular innovation within healthcare, is to this government. A knowledge-based economy is the only realistic approach for the country and we are proud and obviously pleased to be at its vanguard."
